Dr DANNI PEARCE
I am a Quaternary geologist specialising in the effects of climate change in the Northern Hemisphere, particularly mountain glacier and ice sheet dynamics. I also have research interests relating to the Norse settlement of Greenland, fjord and shallow marine habitats and societal adaptation to rapid climate change.
My research uses a multi-proxy approach involving a combination of field data (geomorphology, sedimentology, peat/lake deposits), numerical dating (14C, CNA, OSL) and (basic!!) modelling.
I've worked in a range of environments including; Svalbard Greenland, Arctic Russia, Swiss Alps, Iceland, Canada and Norway.
